Brown Rice with Turmeric

By simply adding turmeric to rice is a nice way to add some color and make it healthier. In this variation we’ve substituted coconut oil for our usual olive oil (or butter) to give it some south-Asian flair.

Ingredients
(make the rice as you normally would but instead of butter or olive oil use coconut oil, and add turmeric)
1 cup brown rice
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp salt
2 cups water (you can also substitute with chicken stock or a combination of water and stock)
pinch pepper
1 tsp turmeric

Garnish
Fresh Cilantro

Enjoy
