Carrots & Cauliflower (steamed)
A quick, easy, and healthy way of cooking vegetables are to steam them.
A few Carrots chopped as desired
Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
1. Wash and cut Carrots and Cauliflower as desired, place in steaming basket.
2. Bring water to boil and steam the Carrots and Cauliflower (covered) for about 5-minutes or until desired tenderness is reached (we like ours a bit crunchy).*
3. Toss the Carrots and Cauliflower into a bowl, add the juice from a freshly squeezed lemon (don’t use a whole lemon, too much is no good), a teaspoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a dab of butter and finally salt and pepper (to taste).
Hint: You can save the water that was used for steaming and use it for soups or other dishes that need water while cooking. .
