Chicken Wings – Basic

While most bar bought chicken wings are deep fried ours are baked or grilled on a BBQ. Baking/roasting in the oven may take a bit longer than frying, but it’s well worth the wait! Using this method makes it easy to prepare different flavor styles of wings, as long as you have the sauces prepared before hand and ready to go!

Ingredients
2-3 lbs chicken wings, cut (save tips for soup)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Simple Honey Ginger Chicken Wing Rub
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp unsalted butter
garlic, pressed
grated ginger
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 lime, juice
salt and black pepper

Directions
1. Cut chicken wings (separate into pieces, save tips for soup)

2. toss with 1 tbsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt

3. Place on a cookie pan with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 250F and let cook for about 45 minutes (you can add spice here if you like). Turn them over (rotate) every 10 minutes or so.

4. After the initial 45 minutes at 250F, you can now turn up the temperature to 425F and let cook for about 45-60 minutes. Turn them over (rotate) every 10 minutes or so.

4. Once cooked to your satisfaction, remove and toss with your favorite sauce.
