Chili Con Carne (Texas-style)
Estilo de Texas Chili Con Carne
by James Belardo

Texas-Style’ Chili Con Carne is traditionally a spicy stew-type dish made with predominately beef and chili peppers. In this recipe we try to play homage to the traditional Texas-Style Chili. While beans and tomatoes were added to the recipe in later years, ‘Texas-Style’ is still considered the Texan official state food.

  1. […] A seminal Super Bowl dish is hot and spicy chili… We all know the more common ground beef and bean version of Chili Con Carne and  many have taken it down different paths. Chili recipes have become a tree with many branches. People have been making a green Chicken Chili with Tamatillos as well as making it meatless by only using vegetables and beans as their base. What we’re doing her is going back to the roots, Texas-Style Chili (description).  Since it omits the beans, and is usually a bit more intense, people have been calling it ‘the beast.’H ere’s our take on ‘the beast,’ Zio James’ Texas-Style Chili.
